Between five and seven, reality comes between girls and their imagination - they stop believing they can be anything. This is the Dream Gap. This sad, yet evocative message was the basis for Barbie's 2019 brand campaign. Barbie is giving a $ for every doll sold to fund research and educational programs to close the gap - working with NYU and UCLA's Center for Scholars and Storytellers to further research and develop a school curriculum that addresses it.
